The Colca River is Peru’s longest coastal river that during thousands of years created the world’s deepest canyon at 3400 meters of depression. The firsts civilizations settled in around 8 thousand years ago and during centuries its inhabitants created complex exchange commercial nets that nowadays still work: fruits, tubers, and vegetables from the lower part were exchanged with meat and camelids’ wool from the upper part.

The coastal desert of Nazca is a land of contrasts. Is one of the driest lands in the world with huge dunes like Cerro Marcha or Cerro Blanco, the highest in South America with 2080 m. At the same time, Peru’s biodiversity-rich fauna: condors, guanacos, sea lions, otters and penguins. Petroglyphs depict whale fossils and prehistoric sharks found on rocks and geoglyphs in the sand.

From the very beginning, the Sacred Valley climate, altitude and land changed it into the main pantry and relaxing environment of the Inca Empire. We can observe the best of Peru’s cultivated corn in the Valley that is surrounded by the mountain range of Vilcabamba, crossed by the Vilcanota River, and is a land of fruit trees, vegetables and livestock breeding.
