Hi Rosario,

As I wrote to you earlier, we are very happy with all the arrangements you have made for us. We succeeded in seeing everything we wanted to see. If I had to mention anybody personally, I would say that the whole team of people we met in Arequipa and Colca went above and beyond their call of duty to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

One thing I did not wish for was the room without windows in the hotel in Cusco but in the end; it was not that bad, because there were skylights on the ceilings. And we were extremely happy by the pleasant surprise to stay in one of the best hotels in Aguas Calientes. Thank you very much!

I will definitely write a summary of our trip on the TRIPADVISOR site soon to make other people aware of your excellent services.

All the best,

Vessy (USA)

Dear Perurooms,

Thank you very much for planning our trip to Peru. It was phenomenal and all this was possible because of all the hard work of your team performed before and during our travels. Peru rooms did an amazing job with our itinerary, the tour guides were very professional and well vast on knowledge of their respective areas, the drivers very safe, hotel accommodations and food was exceptional.

Perurooms has a very high level of professionalism and are flexible in accommodating their client. Our experience in Peru is one that we will always treasure because of all the knowledge we gained interacting with the local tour guide and getting immersed in the culture. We will definitely recommend your company to our friends and family.

Of all our travels around the world, this has been the best travel agent we have used. We wish you provided more countries around South America.  Peru offered the best diversity from history, landscape, culture, archeology, desert, rainforest..etc. we maximized our two and a half weeks and wish we had more time.

Wonder what it is like up North? An area we have yet to explore. Looking back at the photos of our trip I am reminded of a little girl about 3-4yrs old that sold me a hand woven Huayruro seed bracelet tie for 1 sol.

Tren turistico Expedition

She was such beauty and showed a great sense of independence at her age she was business savvy and was learning the weaving skill. It is our plan to hike the Inka trail and we plan on using Perurooms to schedule this in the near future.

Thank You! Thank You! For making our experience in Peru one we will always treasure with the fondest memories.

Warmest Wishes,

Faith and Jason (USA)

We don’t do tours. While planning a visit to Machu Picchu, however, we realized that no non-touristy trip existed. Also, we began to feel overwhelmed by the accumulation of details: coordination of transportation, inevitably long lines, and the possibility of delayed flights, buses, and trains. We could have used our experiences as travelers to overcome all these obstacles, but we decided that it would be more interesting to spend the time and effort getting to know Cuzco, the Sacred Valley, and the people who live there instead of immersing ourselves in the details of coordinating this trip.

We were pleased to find out that a trip planned by Rosa Amelia Merino at Perurooms would not, in fact, cost much more than a low-budget excursion planned with the aid of a Lonely Planet Guide. In addition, we appreciated Rosa Amelia’s willingness to coordinate with the plans we chose to make on our own. In this way, we created a trip that combined her extensive knowledge with our individual interests. During the course of our journey, we had multiple occasions to celebrate this choice of planning organization. When our flight from Lima to Cuzco was delayed by weather conditions, we thought of calling Rosa Amelia. Before we could, however, she called us to inform us that she had been in touch with the airline, knew what we needed to do, and had the schedules for our arrival in Cuzco rearranged. She performed with equal precision when our train to Machu Picchu got stuck in mud due to the rainy season. Incredibly, we made it to the site that day, with sufficient time to make our visit worthwhile. Others, traveling on their own or with different agencies, were not so fortunate.

We asked for Spanish-speaking guides, and were pleased with them and their drivers. All of them spoke clearly, repeated phrases when necessary, and explained some of the terms that Peru has contributed to the Spanish language. After arriving in Cuzco, we went back down the mountains to Urubamba and stayed in the Sacred Valley for a couple of days. We had many opportunities to appreciate Américo, who drove us through the Andes with great care, never causing us to feel anxiety or discomfort on the variable roadways. Carlos guided us through those days with interesting information and conversations. Wilma, our guide in Machu Picchu, filled us in on the history and culture of the people who built and lived in that place. She also took us through the crowds and confusions at the bus and train stations caused by that day’s delays. Our first night back in Cuzco, we wished our room had heat, but that small problem was the only one had with any of our accommodations. We had chosen the inexpensive Amaru hostels in Urubamba and Cuzco, and found them both excellent, with comfortable rooms and delicious breakfasts, all served by friendly and helpful people.

Our experience with Perurooms was so good that we wished Rosa Amelia could plan all of our travels. We had already begun to plan our trip to the north, a fairly straightforward proposition according to the guidebooks, but then decided to ask her to fill in our airport transfers, bus tickets, lodging in Chiclayo, and guides to some archeological sites. She worked around our plans for Trujillo, which we already had in place, and made the rest of our journey much easier than it would have been if we had merely followed the guidebooks. Yanni provided lots of useful information about Chan-Chan and the huacas we visited around Trujillo, and Mitzi showed us many interesting museums, huacas, and sites around Chiclayo. Once again, we were very glad that we got to engage in cultural activities instead of wasting our time dealing with bus tickets, transfers, and other details more appropriate for learning during a longer stay.

We recommend bringing an unlocked cell phone and getting a chip that works in Peru. This was pretty easy and inexpensive. We paid 15 soles, about six US dollars, for our chip, which made staying in touch with Rosa Amelia and her staff easy. Whenever there were weather problems or travel delays, they generally called us before we called them. As you might guess if you’ve read this far, we think very highly of Rosa Amelia and her organization, and hope to travel with them again.

I wanted to let you know that my son and I had a wonderful trip in January.  I appreciate your making our arrangements for the Colca Canyon tour and the tour bus trip from Puno to Cuzco.  We did not see much of Arequipa due to rain the two days we were there but the rest of our trip was great weather.

Again, thank you for your assistance in making this trip a success.

Hello Rosa,

I am at the Lima airport waiting for my flight back home. I called Continental, but they said there is nothing they can do since they got the departure date right. Basically, she said that it was my fault that I did not realize earlier that the arrival time in Houston was wrong. I was so upset. And I was so upset that I missed the tour this evening.

Anyway, I would like to thank you and your team for the great assistance that I had while staying in Peru. Everyone was so nice and treated me very well. I really loved this trip. And I personally want to thank you for your kind and great assistance. I will definitely refer Perurooms to my friends.

Thanks,

Silvia Bezerra (USA)
